Plywood is constructed by bonding together an add number of wood veneers with grain of each layer being perpendicular to each other. Most plywood’s are homogenous structure and due to their construction, allow stronger panels that are more stable in both direction. Generally, plywood can be bonded in one of two ways, either using urea formaldehyde (UF) for interior applications or phenol formaldehyde (PF) or similar resin for exterior applications

Exterior Hardwood Plywood uses a hardware species throughout its construction and bonded together using an exterior grade waterproof and boil proof phenolic resin (WBP). It is generally used where the appearance of the panel must be a natural veneer, but cost is an element of the design, such as in the manufacture of caravan’s containers and packaging
Marine Plywood is manufactured from selected durable tropical hardwoods. PG Bison effectively meets the requirements of the British Standard ruling specification that the plywood should in its natural state possess a minimum degree at durability against attachment by wood-destroying fungi. The selected hardwood veneer is bonded with phenolic adhesive for water resistance and strength. This conforms to the SABS 929 specification and 1088 standard as well as passing the 72 hour boil test. It is used extensively in the boat building/ marine industry and for exterior applications
The construction of Pine Plywood results in a material that is stronger than its component parts and more stable in all directions, using either (UF) or exterior (PF) grade glue. Panel grades are generally defined in terms of the veneer grade used on the face and the back of the panel. Pine Plywood is used in the manufacture of furniture and crating as well as pattern making and general joinery
Pine Shutterply, unlike the other appearance grade plywood, is pine plywood where the grade of face veneer is of secondary importance to its application. Generally a C/C grade face is used with the panel bonded together with exterior (PF) resin. Shutterply is often coated with a resin to assist in the prevention of water absorption while also proving a good off shutter concrete finish. As its name implies, shutterply is primarily used in the shuttering (temporary moulding) or forming of wet concrete until the concrete sets. It is also used for packing and in coach building. By storing, treating and cleaning shutterply correctly, the panels ’lifespans can be significantly increased
